          I read an article recently in a religious newspaper. It told of a famous Japanese artist who had contacted Christian missionaries to inquire about a ticket to heaven. He was a very old man who knew that death could not be far away.           This weekend will be the 4th of July, a date of historical significance because it marks the birth of our nation. It was on that day in 1776 that representatives of the thirteen colonies signed a document declaring themselves to be a free and independent nation. Most of us are familiar with the contents of that document. We, of course, know it as “The Declaration of Independence”. Welcome Ms. Ragone!

We are happy to announce that Ms. Rose Ragone has been hired as our new Annunciation School Principal!  Ms. Ragone comes to Annunciation with years of experience as an educator and administrator.  We are very happy that Ms. Ragone has accepted the position and challenges of principal.  She will do much to enhance the educational, spiritual and social dimensions of our wonderful parish school for Pre-K through 8th grade.  Welcome to the Annunciation School Community!

The Passing of Deacon Longo

We regret to inform you of the death of Deacon Ralph Longo on June 11, 2018.  Having served Annunciation Church for the past 13 years, Deacon Longo will be lovingly remembered and missed by everyone at Annunciation-Our Lady of Fatima parish.  His viewing will be at Annunciation Church on Thursday, June 14th from 4 – 8 pm.  There will be a funeral mass at Annunciation on Friday, June 15th at 10 AM.   His burial will be at St. Steven’s Cemetery in Warwick, NY. Please keep our beloved Deacon Longo and his family in your prayers.

Welcome Fr. Kareem Smith!

Please join us in welcoming newly ordained priest, Fr. Kareem Smith, to our parish!  Born and raised in the Bronx, Fr. Kareem attended St. Anthony’s School in the Bronx, Blessed Sacrament High School in New Rochelle, and St. John’s University in Queens before joining St. Joseph’s Seminary.  His prior parish assignments have included Assumption in Peekskill and St. Patrick’s Cathedral.  We are excited to have Fr. Kareem join our parish – please extend a warm welcome to him!
