Good-bye to Fr. Kareem!

We wish Fr. Kareem Smith a fond farewell as he gets ready to leave Annunciation-Our Lady of Fatima for his new assignment.  He has been reassigned as an Associate to the parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shrub Oak, NY beginning on July 1st.  We are sure that you share our expressions of thanks to Fr. Kareem for his three years of dedicated and loving service to our parish and our school.  Fr. Kareem, you will be missed!

Welcome Fr. Robert Carolan!

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to newly ordained, Father Carolan, as our new Associate.  He grew up in Yorktown Heights, was a parishioner at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Shrub Oak, and was enrolled in the parish school there before later graduating from Yorktown High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in applied sociology from East Carolina University in North Carolina and a Master’s in physical education in sports pedagogy from Manhattanville College in Purchase.  Fr. Fr. Chris Argano’s New Assignment

Fr. Chris Argano, the Vocation Director of the Archdiocese of NY, who has been in residence here at our parish since 2016, has a new assignment!  He has been named Pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville and St. Columba in Chester, NY.  His new placement begins on July 1st and we wish him well in this new venture.  Congratulations!

     One of the most difficult questions that any of us ever face is “Why?”  And we face it repeatedly.  Life is fraught with mystery.  Everywhere the question “why” raises its head.  Why war?  Why poverty?  Why disease?  Why earthquakes?  Why floods?  Why human suffering and heartbreak?  All of these are questions to which we do not have an answer.  So far as I know, nobody does.  So instead of speculating about “Why,” let us reflect upon why we do not understand.      One reason we have trouble understanding is because God’s timetable is different from ours.  We […]

Letter From the Pastor – May 30, 2021

                Yesterday, May 29th, several men from St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers were ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of New York and four for the CFR.  Our best wishes and prayers go with them as they begin their new ministry in the name of the Lord.                 Hopefully, we here at Annunciation – Our Lady of Fatima pray fervently today and every day for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.  Our Holy Father makes a special point of the truth that the local parish community and, in […]
